Polish candidate for the Oscar. Winner of ten prestigious awards at the 44th Polish Feature Film Festival in Gdynia, including: awards for the best screenplay, directing, the best supporting female role and valuable environmental awards - Audience Awards, Journalists and the Studio and Local Cinema Network. The latest work by Jan Komasa ("City 44", "Suicide Room") is a story of a boy inspired by real events who after leaving the correctional institution decides to pretend to be a priest. His role is brilliantly played by one of the greatest acting discoveries of recent years - the winner of the Crystal Star Elle - Bartosz Bielenia ("On the Border"). The remaining part of the cast is complemented by talented young generation actors - Eliza Rycembel ("Promise", "Carte Blanche") and Tomasz Ziętek ("Silent Night", "Convoy"), winners of prestigious awards of the previous editions of the Polish Film Festival in Gdynia - Aleksandra Konieczna ("The Last Family" ") And Łukasz Simlat (" Amok ") and Leszek Lichota - the main star of one of the most popular national series -" Wataha ". The script for the" Corpus Christi "award-winning Script Pro is Mateusz Pacewicz. The cinematographer - Piotr Sobociński Jr. ("Wołyń", "Bogowie", "Drogówka"). Fascinating music for the film was composed by the outstanding duo of composers, Evgueni and Sacha Galperine, authors of music for such films as "Love" by Andrei Zvyagintsev, "The Past" by Asghar Farhadi or recently "Thank God" by François Ozon. "Corpus Christi" is an extremely original project in Polish and eu ropean cinema - a bold production based on taboos, touching the issues of social divisions and the complex spirituality of young people. The film's world premiere took place at the Venice Film Festival, where it won two awards: Europa Cinemas Label and the Inclusive Award Edipo Re. The picture was also presented in the Contemporary World Cinema section of the Toronto Film Festival - the largest and most important event of its kind in North America. The Asian premiere of the production will take place at the Busan Film Festival in South Korea. The "Body" will be awarded to Polish cinemas on October 11 ..

"Corpus Christi" is the story of 20-year-old Daniel, who during his stay in juvie undergoes a spiritual transformation and secretly dreams of becoming a priest. After several years of imprisonment, the boy is released on parole and then directed to work in a carpentry workshop. Instead of going there, Daniel heads to the local church, where he befriends the priest. When, in the absence of a priest, an opportunity unexpectedly arises, the boy uses it and pretends to be a priest in the town. From the beginning, his methods of evangelization arouse controversy among the inhabitants, especially in the eyes of the strict church Lidia. Over time, however, the teachings and charisma of the false priest begin to move people immersed in a tragedy that shook the local community a few months earlier. Meanwhile, Daniel's former colleague from a juvenile reformatory appears in the town, and the daughter of the church, Marta, is increasingly beginning to question the spirit of the young priest. All this means that the boy begins to burn underfoot. Torn between the sacred and the profane, the hero finds a new and important goal in his life. He decides to implement it, even if his secret would be revealed ...
