In the years 1914–1918 a global conflict broke out, which changed the course of history. The people who were his eyewitnesses did not live in a silent, black and white world. Move in time to experience these events with their participants. Oscar-winning filmmaker Peter Jackson (The Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Hobbit trilogy) presents the groundbreaking documentary AND THE YOUNG PEOPLE REMAIN, presented on the hundredth anniversary of the end of World War I. Jackson used state-of-the-art reconstruction and coloring techniques as well as 3D technologies to restore century-old film material. The image was created with over 600 hours of BBC and IWM archival interviews, which made up the thrilling documentary The War to End All Wars with soldiers involved in the fighting. As a result of an unprecedented level of reconstruction of original recordings, the human dimension of World War I emerges from the depths of history in excellent quality. Jackson shows the everyday life of soldiers and their wartime reality on the front lines - approach to conflict, a sense of camaraderie and the need to maintain serenity in the midst of the atrocities of war, daily functioning in the trenches and the activities they did in their free time. By using innovative techniques to transform recordings made a hundred years ago into film material that could be shot today, Jackson remembers a generation forever stigmatized by global war, while paying homage to him.
